Don't do what I did!

I was going out with my girlfriend for 6 years. We went on beutiful holidays, had a lot of fun and she broke up with me out of the blue. She never gave me a hint that anyhting was up. It really hit me hard when she finished with me by telephone. I spent two weeks in absolute despair and lost some dignity by trying to get here back. This is when she literally picked my character apart bit by bit. She started using anything she could to justify breaking up with me. I was pushing here further and further away. Then I saw her out, chatting up another guy within 3 weeks and I lost the plot, called her all the names under the sun and totally lost my dignity. I apologised the next day and we have not spoken since. I still love her, and would dearly love another chance but I had to move on. If anything is to happen in the future I have realised I have to get on with my own life and let her go. Do not chase them because if you lose your self respect you shall never get them back. It is the hardest thing to do to accept their decision but it really has taught me a hell of a lot and will make me stronger. Onwards and upwards!
