Don't Wait Too Long, Give It Time??

There seems to be a contradiction between these two veiwpoints. It seems that maybe in some cases it is better to give it time before relating with the ex. And in others the sooner the better. I've read both veiws on here. I guess it just depends on the circumstances at hand. Niether is right, neither is wrong.
