Before you go chasing your ex, sit down and really evaluate why you are doing it. Is it just because it´s easier than finding someone new? Is it because you´re afraid of being on your own? Neither of these are good reasons to try to be with someone.

You don´t want to run back to your ex because you´re afraid of the life without the ex. You should only consider going back if you *could* be fine on your own, but your life would be more complete with the ex.
