Turquoise is the traditional birthstone for December, and is a stone much loved by American Indians. Turquoise has been used since the days of the Egyptians.

Turquoise is associated with spirituality, wisdom and clarity of thought.

The stone is normally dark blue to light blue with various veins running through it. The stone is found mostly in the southwestern US and in the middle east.
