Back Rubs

Probably the classic way to build up intimacy is the back rub. Every person gets a sore back after a day of life! To turn away from someone and trust them to be good to you is a very powerful thing. And back rubs feel SOOOO good.

Have your partner lay face-down on the couch or floor with a pillow below their head. Having them wear a t-shirt and nothing else beneath it is best. Put some massage oil in your palms and put your hands beneath the tshirt, starting at the base of the spine, and work your way up their back, slowly and gently massaging the back. Never touch the actual spine! Just work on the back, on either side of the spine.

There are many great books on how to give a back massage. It is VERY worth it to buy one or two - this skill is one you can use for the rest of your life.
