If a couple is at one stage of a relationship and one person wants to move on to the next stage, that person can second-guess every event, thinking "this will be where I get the ring" or "this will be where she asks me to move in." It can get very frustrating and wearying to keep being disappointed, especially because your partner often doesn´t realize this is going on.

If you want to move to the next level, talk to your partner about it. You don´t need to come right out and say "I think you should ask me to marry you," but you can talk about the idea in general, and see how you both feel about it. If it seems your partner needs time to think about it, it will save you a lot of stress and hassle!
