Staying in Touch

It all depends on the situation you´re in. If you´re living together, an email a day is probably fine, since you see each other all night. If you´re in different cities, it might be fine to call once a week as you stay busy with your other tasks. If you´re madly falling in love for the first time, talking for 8 hours a night might seem like too little!

What is important is you both are comfortable with the level. If someone is feeling neglected, work to update things so that both partners are comfortable with the contact level.

On the low end, someone might feel upset and neglected if you are in contact too few times. On the other hand, if someone feels like they have to check in every 5 minutes, they will feel "on the leash". Find a middle ground which works for both of you.
