One of THE easiest things to do with a friend to move things along is to go to a movie that has romance. Friends go to movies all the time. That's normal. Go to one or two "regular" movies first - comedies, that sort of thing. Then wait for one that is pretty romantic and see that together. When you see a romantic movie with someone, it makes you feel romantic. Make sure you know of a coffeehouse or dessert-serving place to go afterwards, so you can share the glow together.
