Gems of the Sea :
Amber
Amber has poetic roots in a greek legend of lovelorn sisters weeping for their departed loves on the shore. Their tears were said to be preserved by the gods, as Amber. Actually fossilized tree sap, amber may contain organic occlusions like plant matter and even insects.
The Baltic sea washes up amber. Rub two pieces of amber together and sparks will fly!
Amber comes in many colours and clarities. The patient collector will find exactly what she wants at last!
