Honesty is KEY
The most important thing you can do when making this step is to be completely honest with each other. Just say anything and everything that's on your mind, and hesitancy, sadness, happiness, anything. It's so much easier to understand each other's fears and uncertainties, and joys and loves too. My friend and I are taking this leap together right now, and the only reason I think its working the way it is (which is really well) is that I'm completely honest with him, and I always tell him exactly whats on my mind, even if I don't think he'll like it. It's given us a real opportunity to understand each other and to really grow closer.
