Basically, I agree with the above.
According to my experience, many times a break up has been caused by misunderstandings accompanied with a loss of trust.
However, after some time has gone by, it may be motivating for your ex-partner to see or hear about you hapily living your live. Which simply means going out, having fun, being social (not starting a new relationship right away..).
The one who originated the break up might feel a sudden urge to "resurrect" the dormant relationship.
Unlikely? No, absolutely not.
Human nature is just like that: We always want what we cannot have.
In some cases, the emotional distance caused by meeting or dating others may help your partner to become aware of his caring feelings for you which temporarily have been buried.
