I do agree that it would be better to be able to be honest with your ex and not have to play games, but if you pour your heart out and beg for your ex to take you back, they aren't likely to want you back at all. If they see you as emotionally weak, that will further the thought that they're better off without you. I know, I've done this, and believe me, all I did was push my ex farther away from me. If you truly believe that your ex loved you, let them see the side of you that they fell in love with, even if you have to fake it a little bit.
