I'm writing this to also help myself out in this situation. I have just recently broken up with my boyfriend of 2 and a half years. We lived together through pretty much the entire time, and I love him so much. However, there are things that he does that I can't live with; he has lied to me a couple times, he has said that he'll stop doing things that I don't like but he never did. And what I've finally realized is that I can't change him. It hurts so much, and right now I don't want to be with anyone else and I keep wondering if I made a mistake. But I need to be strong and just know that this will eventually work out for the best for me. He is really sad and depressed, but knows that he messed up, and hopefully he'll eventually accept it also instead of making me feel bad about it and trying to get me back when we both know we're not good for each other.
