race is irrelevent but culture can cause some major clashes. you datin someone of a different race who grew up on the other side of the city, no big deal. person of the same race grew up in Argentina, China, South Africa or France then they think different ways.
Color of skin and the shape of eyes dont matter much but if you think your showing respect by looking someone in the eye when you talk to them but your girl thinks looking someone in the eye is rude then theres bigger problems to come.
