It is very unusual for two people to make the exact same amount of money. So having each person contribute the exact same money to the home is sometimes tricky. Sit down and discuss this. Don't just take it for granted. You want to make things as fair as possible - bor both of your sakes. If one person says they will pay for everything and do everything, it is setting up a situation for martyr feelings and other issues. Both people should contribute fairly - with whatever money, efforts, chores etc. is appropriate - to the upkeep of this joint home.
