He wanted to ask me to snowball

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
Hello,
There is this guy who likes me. I know he does, because he told my friend. Also, he's been displaying obvious signs all year. Oh, and I like him, too. But there are some complications. First of all, my friend (mentioned above) likes him, too. Also, he's very shy, as am I. He's so shy, he even told my friend that he wouldn't tell his friends for fear they'd laugh at him. The problem is that I cannot get him to ask me out. He's even told this friend of mine that he wanted to ask me to snowball (school dance), and he's sort of tried, and I've tried to encourage him to do it, but he always just says never mind. I do I get him to step out of his shell enough to ask me, without me having to do the actual asking? Or is my asking the only alternative? I certainly hope not, because I don't think I could do that no matter how much I liked some one...

Please help me to get him to ask me out!!!

This isn't a perfect answer but this is a difficult situation.

Don't ask him out and don't wait for him. Both of you are too shy.

Instead, ask him "Do WE want to go to the snowball together?" This way neither of you has to ask the other. You will fumble around and finally you will both agree that you want to go.

Give it a try. It's better to find out than never know.

Good luck! George
