My friend saw him for Christmas and said he looked really down

Recently I met my ex at my friends birthday....it was a family party! Anyways to cut to the chase...we hardly talked that day but when we did..he touched my waist and after i did a speech for my friend...he held my shoulder and then his hands ended up on my waist again (he used to do this when we were together to let me know he was still there when he talked to other people). When I was talking to another guy my ex walked past me and poked me in my tummy...was it because he was seeking attention? I text him the next day and he text back..but he hasnt replied to any of my other texts since! Slightly confusing! My friend saw him for Christmas and said he looked really down..which is really unlike him...do you think it could because of me? I said id ring him but i never did because he didnt tell me when he was free for me to call...im not sure!

Maybe that is what he was looking down about.

On the other hand, maybe he isn't thinking of you at all.
