I want to start dating!

I've never had a boyfriend and all of my friends have had at least 2. I like this guy in grade 9 named s hes a real hottie and I don't know what to say when I go up to him. Could you help me? oh and if you were someone realy shy and you wanted to ask someone out but you kept chickening out. what would you do?

I know it's hard, but don't compare yourself to your friends. LOTS of people don't even date at all in high school. If anything it's because you have higher standards than people who just randomly date whoever seems OK that comes along.

Don't think about it as leaping after him to date him :) Think of it as wanting to be friends with him. The happiest couples are those who really enjoy each other, who are best friends with each other. So get to be friends with him. Say hi to him to start with. Just be friendly. Get to know his intersts. Share your own with him. You don't have to have hour long conversations with him at first. Just say hi, ask what the homework assignment was, ask what's going on for the weekend. The more you talk with him, the easier it will get!
