I had one of my friends ask my crush's name and find out what grade he's in. I found out both, which is good (he's a year older than me), but my friend also told him I liked him before I wanted her to. He knows my name, but doesn't know what I look like.
He's quiet and a bit shy, as am I, and I don't know how to approach him or get to know him. Should I write him a note or just walk up to him? What should I say?

Write him a note and introduce yourself.
Since he already knows you like him it won't be a surprise when you say so in the note. Give him your telephone number and ask him to call you. Tell him you are shy but that you will give a strong effort to overcome your shyness because you like him so much.
