How am I to know if it is real love, not just puppy love as our parents call it?

My love and I have been dating for more than three months. We've gone pretty far with each other. I love him and he loves me. We're only 14, people tell us it won't last. But he's told me he wants to be with me forever and marry when we're adults and, honestly, I want that to happen. How am I to know if it is real love, not just puppy love as our parents call it?

There is no way to tell at your age how long your feelings will last. You have only been going out for three months.
Some people do meet at an early age and then go on to marry, so there is no reason why you might not be one of them.
