Likes best friend's brother

I was at my friend's house yesterday, and her brother was there. I've liked her brother for a really long time, and I'm not sure if he likes me back. We were watching a movie, and when it got funny, he kept looking at me to see if I was laughing. He also often makes not-so-funny jokes to see if I laugh. Is he just being nice to me because I'm his sister's best friend, or is it something else? Please help!

It is really too difficult to guess at this point whether he likes you or not. He probably likes you at least a little bit. The only way to find out is to hang out with him more and see if a closer friendship develops. You might also use your girlfriend as a "go between" to find out what he thinks of you.
