Accepting compliments

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male
I have a few questions. One, how do I get a girl to ACCEPT compliments? Many times, I would tell a girl that she's pretty and cute and all that, but she doesn't think so herself and she won't accept that. Two, how do I get an insecured person to open up? I talk to her online and in person, even over the phone, but it seems like she's held back for some reason. She's been like that for a while. Three, what is the meaning of LOVE?

People are conditioned to refuse to accept compliments for fear it will make them appear conceited. Just continue to give out compliments, they will not go unappreciated.

The way to get shy people to open up is to get them to trust you. That trust is built up over a long period of time where you gradually become friends who can talk about most anything. Take note of when she seems animated as a clue to when she is feeling open. Once you know what she is comfortable with, you will have a much better chance of getting closer to her.
