Jealous for No Reason

I am so jealous of my girlfriend. but yet i have nothing to be jealous of. she recently made a new friend who happens to be a rather geeky looking guy, and she even admits that he is a geek. she always shows me how much she loves me, but i am still jealous of her new MALE friend. what can i do? she has never done anything even the slightest bit wrong in our relationship.

It's good that you see this is a problem, because *tons* of relationships completely self destruct because of unnecessary jealousy. You can literally drive her away with your jealousy, even if she's completely in love with you and innocent.

In essence it comes down to you worrying that she's going to run off if she has the chance - that someone else can easily 'steal away' her love. You don't trust that you are good enough for her to simply love no matter what. So work on that. Tell yourself every morning that you ARE worthy of her love, that she loves you, and you love her, and that is that.
It may sound silly, but the problem is in your mind, and the only way you can fix it is to change your mind. Keep telling yourself that your love for each other is strong, and it won't vanish just because she looks at another guy. If you feel a jealous thought coming up, remind yourself. Once you can trust your relationship with her, and feel secure in her love, you'll find that your jealousy will completely vanish.
