How do I get to this closed in guy?

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
There is this guy that has mixed feelings about me and I never really know what he thinks of me. He has had a crush on another girl for who never gives him he time of day except when she is useing him for something she wants. I would give anything for a speck of his time and he is always really nice and sweet to me when he does chat with me. I feel so much for this guy. I think we are friends but he will never call me or want to hang out outside of our friend circle. I want him to see me as more than what I am without freaking him out (he is hard to appproach sometimes). I want to be his girlfriend or at least one of his best friends and I wish he would let me more into his life than where I am now. What do I do? Should I move on completely, keep all options open, or forget about this guy completely? How do I get to this closed in guy?

We have tons of tips on how to go from friend to more:

You can try confiding in him more, to see if he'll loosen up and talk with you more. Tell him that you'd like to talk with him alone because you trust his advice. This will boost his ego and he'll be glad to take you up on it. Then as you share with him, he could start sharing with you too. At the very least, you'll have him all to yourself so that you can make your move.

Good luck!
