Why won't he just call me ??

I hope you can help because I am too baffled about this. I met this guy while training for a new position. He was kinda like someone that I was assigned to shadow. I noticed sometimes he would stare at me, position his body towards me, make an excuse to reach over me, mimic some of my body language, etc. I never really paid attention. He gave me a compliment on my birthday card "your pretty". Shortly thereafter a friend told me that she thought she liked me. She (without my permission) gave him a piece of paper to write his phone number down on. He complied. So I walked over to him to make sure it was the right number and gave him mine. Next day he text messages me and we go back in forth until he stops abruptly after my last message. I didn't hear from him in 3 days. He text messages me again and he abruptly stops after my last message to him. I haven't heard from him since. At work, he stares a little and will turn away when I catch him. Or he will make an attempt to pass me without speaking or sayin hi. What am I missing here? The signs show me he liked me. Why would he accept my number, text message me and just stop speaking to me? Why won't he just call me instead of texting me? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Sounds to me like he's confused as to what he wants from you. One big thing may be that he's uncertain about turning a work relationship into a love relationship. The biggest problem is that if you break up, then going into work each day is very painful. This may be going through his head. He does seem to like you, though, and if you want to pursue this, then why not ask him to lunch or ask him to chat with you for a bit. Make up a problem that you need his help to solve. Find ways of getting close to him and see where it leads.
