I love this guy but he has a gf.
Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
I love this guy but he has a gf. I don't know how long the relationship will last. We have been friends for almost a year and I have just recently started liking him more than just a friend. We have so much in common. He has no idea of my feelings for him, but I think if he knew, he might start to feel the same way. What do I need to do? Should I tell him how I feel while he still has a gf or should I wait till they break up? I'm afraid though if I don't tell him now, he might not ever consider me more than just a friend. I think he has a little crush on me, but I'm not sure. I do have one problem. He is my x-bf best friend. My x broke up with me though. I don't care how he reacts. I only know that I'm totally and completely in love with this guy and I can't get over him just because he's taken. Please help me. I don't want to get over him, so please don't suggest that. Please respond! Thank you.
If you approach your friend and tell him you like him, be prepared for the friendship to suffer. He's going to back off from you and will go out more with his girlfriend. Do you want this? If not, then you need to let your feelings just sit while he has a girlfriend. Would you want for him to cheat on her, because then if you do go out with him, you'll always wonder whether or not he'll cheat on you like he did to her. That's something you don't want to be wondering.
I suggest that you find someone new to enjoy while you're waiting for your friend to break up with his girlfriend. If you're not fixating on him all the time, then you will have a happier time of it. Enjoy your other friends and immerse yourself into groups or non-profit volunteering or a job. Do something with your life instead of just hanging out waiting on this guy.
