I really am depressed because I don't know if this guy likes me or not. How can I tell that he likes me and also, what kinds of topics can you talk on the phone with this guy to make him attracted to you more?

There are NO secret phrases or words that attract guys. That is what friendship is all about - learning what a person enjoys and wants to talk about. If you talk to him on the phone, don't you know what his basic likes are - sports, hunting, certain bands, playing instruments, etc? That is what you should talk about - the things he enjoys!
