Calling Men

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
What are the general rules when it come to calling men? I just keep getting more and more confused. I was raised to believe that the man should call the woman...persue her, but within the last couple of years I have dated men who have gotten mad at me because i'm not calling them, even though they aren't making the effort to call me either. I mean if they do call me and I miss their call or something then I call them back, but at the beginning of seeing a new guy, I don't call them just to call them and I thought that was how its supposed to be. I thought that doing that looked desperate. I thought if a man is interested, then he will call and persue you. Are women supposed to do this now....the calling, persuing, date planning ect. b/c i'm confused and I don't know how to act. What is your advise?

Traditionally the men pursue the women.

However ever since the sexual revolution this has changed. You should do what you feel comfortable with but don't eliminate the idea of pursuing men.

Keep in mind that some men might not like it and, as you said, consider you to be desperate.

So, there is no general rule.
