Is it too late?

I've known a boy for about three years now and we would flirt on and off during that time period. Now, we're in highschool and I'm just beginning to get over my shyness of him (we've never really had a decent conversation because both of us are shy) and trying to smile at him. He doesn't look at me anymore and I've never really responded..you know, flirtatiously to any of his attempts to talk to me. Sometimes he looks at me while I'm not looking, though.

Do you think it is too late to try and get to know him?

Keep smiling at him and using his name. That will eventually win him over and overcome his shyness.
