Not Sure What To Make Of This

I have been talking to this woman who got out of a relationship 2 months ago. We have great conversation until she brings her ex b/f up. The 1st time we talked she told me all the bad things and went on for like an hour. We have talked for hours the other two times and she tells me everything bad about this guy still. Why would she do this and what does she feel she is gaining by trashing him to me? I know people need to vent, but I think her stories may not be true. I kinda like this girl but finally had to tell her to quit trashing this guy. I understand the pain of a break but she is really being mean to this guy. Lord knows what she might say about me.

You are right. She needs to get her head out of the past and into the present and future.

Maybe she is telling you these things as a warning about what you should and should not do. But enough is enough. You were right to ask her to stop trashing her ex.
