What is going on?

Okay.. So a few months ago I started talking to this guy I met in my science class.. he's graduated but he still lives in town. We talked on myspace, and then on a messanger, and he said he thought I was cute, I told him the same. We talked for three months.. got to know eachother.. etc.. and he said it was odd that he was really starting to like me without us having ever hung out or anything. One day, out of nowhere, after my friends intervened, we do wind up hanging out, all day and night. I had alot of fun, he seemed to have fun. We kissed/madeout/whatever you'd like to call it. When he was leaving, he told me he'd call me in the morning after work but he never did. And he responds to messages.. but we don't talk anymore..about things we used to. We barley talk at all. I wanna ask him about it, but I'm a shy person. Do should I just give up? Is he only playing hard to get or am I just stupid?
