Working At It...

I apolgize if the answer to this is somewhere on the site, but I just couldn't find one. Here's the thing:
Since grade seven i've steadily been working at this romance stuff. In this time I've liked 3 girls. First one, all I did was LOOK (I know, I was new). Second, when I sat next to her we talked and laughed and became somewhat friends, but after we moved seats, we stopped talking, dead end. Third (The one i'm on now), we are friends who do not need to sit together to talk, we say hi, goodbye, etc, occassionally pass notes and such. I do not have her email, MSN, or phone #.
I didn't get either of the first two girls (Duh), byt I DO like this girl way more than the others. The others just had good looks, this one has a great personality. Really. I just don't want to have her slip from my grasp. Can you tell me the next step? I have a feeling I should ask for her Email, but if not, please tell me. Thanks.

Next thing to do is to send her a note and ask for her email, msn, or phone number or all three.
Then start asking her for hugs or give her hugs.
This should pick things up with her.
