but for 6 years?

hello im a girl and i have problem with my best friend...well this is not one of your normal questions...ill tell you all of it:
there is this gy i have known for like 8 years now and a couple of years ago i relized that i love him more than a brother.i feel like i am going to cry when i think of him because i love him and he doesnt even like me..he does like me as a frien d but he doesnt like me the way i like him...right now im crying and i cant help it...we are very close but not like that..anymore.we used to go out...ell sorta..you see he asked me out when i was 9 and i know that he didnt really mean it because he broke up with me 13 hours later...i spent the night at his house...i really like him and he doesnt know it...i always write letters to him...intimate letters and i do it because he is the only thing on my mind....ive tried to forget about him but i cant...i thought about asking him out but i dont want to go through hi saying no and i know that he will cuz he doesnt like me.......im so sad and depressed...i used to live by him but i moved...so what should i do?PLEASE HELP!!

My advice is to ask him out.

As you said, he will probably say no, but at least then you know it for a fact. It will also put a thought into his mind and he may change his feelings one day.

Put all that mental and emotional energy you are now investing in him and instead, work really hard at something that will make you more attractive to him. You would best know if it might be sports, intellectual work, volunteer activities... there are hundreds of things to do. If you know what he values you would have chance of choosing something he would appreciate.
