How can you hate someone who has done nothing wrong?Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
I have date someone on and off since last October. We have been through a few slight fights but nothing major. About 2 months ago we broke up because he thought I was cheating on him, which never happened. We decided to remain friends. That got tough because he kept telling me he missed me so much but I told him we need to remain friends for awhile before we even think about getting back together because we need to rebuild out trust and relationship as a whole. That weekend he went to the beach with some friends and the following monday I asked him to hangout but he said he couldnt because he had a date. I was hurt but tried to remain calm and realize we are not together and he can do what he wants. But he kept texting me telling me she had a hot body and stuff and I was getting annoyed because there is a point where he should have drawn the line but he did not. So I told him we can't be friends if he intends to say hurtful things when he knows he shouldnt. He told me I was trying to be his friend with other motives and I only wanted to be his girl when it was convient for him. I want to be his friend but I don't think as ex's he needs to share things like that in detail (alot) of detail. He got bad and has not talked to me for almost a month now. He will not answer any of my calls, emails, and text messages.
I got really annoyed and yesturday e-mailed for the last time and told him I need closure wiether he wants to every be my friend or apart of my life and if he doenst write back then that will be my clousre and I told him that I wanted him to know that at the end of the day I have done my best to remain apart of his life and his friend, but I am waving my white flag and moving on from this point. I wish him the best.
He still has not e-mailed me back and I know its only been a day but I fear that even though we said we will always be friends that it will not happen. I also don't understand how he can say he cares about me, yet not talk to me for a month. I am moving on and not worrying about remain his friend but I want to know I did all I could. I want to know if there was anything I could have done different and or do now.
Things seemed simplier before I told him I just want to be friends now.
He completely has wiped me out of his life for no reason and despite all this I still want to be his friend and I don't know why or if maybe its something more.
I am so confused. I dont want to be the bad guy but also i dont want to be walked all over.
You have put up with a lot.
He hasn't treated you as a friend and the first girl that came along made him forget you completely after aggravating you.
Sounds like he was very hurt by the breakup and hasn't forgiven you. That is his problem. You did what you could and now you are doing the right thing by moving on. His loss.
Good luck! George
