Preparing for that first kiss of the relationship

Me and my girlfriend,who is 16, have been going out for almost a month(3 weeks) and we like each other and everything and she tells me that if I keep doing what i'm doing we'll go to the next level(kissing,making out).I'm completely excited but I'm also nervous at the same time.My question is what should i do to relax and prepare myself for this (kissing and making out) and make sure everything keeps going well?
