It's really starting to bother me, but I put up with it in an attempt to show that I trust her

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Male
Hi,actually, I have two questions. My girlfriend and I have been going out for about a year now, and I try my hardest to trust her completely, but every once in a while, the little green monster pops up. One of my best friends used to have feelings for her, and I feel like he still does. Lately, she's been wanting to spend time with him. She's constantly flirting, but afterwards tells me it doesnt mean anything. It's really starting to bother me, but I put up with it in an attempt to show that I trust her. How should I be handling this? Also, she is starting to really worry about going of to college, and doesn't really know how she can handle the relationship over distance thing. Any advice?

RomanceClass.com Advice
On the jealousy issue, you have been very good about it so far.

If it starts to bug you, there is nothing wrong with letting her know that you trust her but sometimes you have pangs of jealousy when she flirts too much with your friend.

Long distances romances are very tough. Obviously you aren't going to the same college as she is. Do you honestly think your relationship can survive through four years of college? Probably not.

So either figure out way to be together like going to the same college or you might move to her college town and work there (if you are not going to college).

Meanwhile enjoy life while you have a good thing going. It's a shame to waste a good time.

Good luck! George
