He is a Punjabi Indian and I am a white American

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
I'm dating a man who is of a completely different culture from mine. He is a Punjabi Indian and I am a white American. I really care about him and would like very much to make things work for us, but it seems like he is trying to make it difficult. He rarely calls but when we talk he blames it on his 60 hour a week work schedule. His parents don't approve of his dating a white girl, and even though they are still in India, they have a lot of pull with him. I'm just not sure if this is worth pursuing or if it is a waste of my time. I'm tired of waiting for him every night and being the only one trying to make this work- What should I do??

RomanceClass.com Advice
You are going to need a lot of luck.

His working hours leave him little left over for you. His parents' disapproval is not a good sign either.

You need to have a long talk with him to sort out your problems and your feelings. Be gentle, understanding, honest, and caring. Try to see his point of view. Perhaps between you, you can figure something out.

Maybe if you move in together that would help.

Good luck!
George
