I'm Shy - How do I Ask her Out?

I like this girl that I hang around with, but I'm kind of shy. I've known her for three years and I know her likes and dislikes and she knows mine. I'm afraid I'll get rejected by her because she might just think of me as her friend only. so I don't know what to do in this situation.

I have a TON of advice on the site about slowly moving from friend to boyfriend-girlfriend. Don't rush into it. Just talk to her, and move slowly and casually. You'll find if you follow my advice that she won't get afraid, it will just seem like a normal progression.
