Not capable of relationship

Visitor's Question from a 51-60 year old Female
Are some people just not relationship material? I have recently come to the realization that I had an abusive (verbal, psychological, physical) childhood. After many failed relationships and 2 marriages that lasted five years a piece, I'm wondering if it's just not in me to have a successful relationship. successful meaning long-term and reasonably healty, respect, love, companionship, sex. It seems like I'm happier not dating or getting involved. I fear more rejection. What bothers me is that being in a good marriage had been very important to me.

RomanceClass.com Advice
Some people are probably not relationship material.

But that doesn't mean you are one of them. You should get yourself to a professional counselor who can help you work through your concerns in person.

Most people have someone out there waiting for them. It would help if you could work out some of your ancient baggage before you tried to meet them.

Don't give up hope! George
