Getting Married

The marriage ceremony can be a huge source of contention for people of mixed backgrounds. Even if the couple decides something is OK, the family may fight vigorously for things to be done "their way".

If you really cannot find a compromise, consider two separate ceremonies! Each one can be done in a certain style, and if you plan things well, you shouldnīt have to spend much more money for this accomodation since each will probably be smaller than a full one would be. If family members are being adamant that things are being done a certain way, donīt feel shy about asking them to chip in to help out with the extra expense. After all, part of why you are making the concession is to please them!
