I've been best friends with this guy for the past year. We used to be super close (i.e. we'd hang out everyday, go to the movies, go out to dinner, go to the beach, etc...) It was almost like we were dating without officially saying we were. Eventually he told me he had thought about us dating and wanted to know how I felt. I wasn't interested in him at the time, so I just kinda blew him off and stopped talking to him for awhile. Now, I am interested in him and I told him how I felt and he says he's not interested in me anymore. He says all the feelings he had a couple months ago are gone. I don't understand though...he still acts interested...he gets jealous when I talk to other guys, he kisses me on the cheek, tells me that I'll always be there, etc...

What does this mean? Does he still have feelings for me even though he says he doesn't? Is he just confused? What's going on? He's basically told me right out that "we" will never be...but he acts like he still wants something. I'm so confused.

Difficult to be sure, but it's possible that he just wants you to understand how he felt when you did this to him.

Or perhaps he just wants you as a friend. I suppose it's possible to be attentive and to get jealous if your special friend is getting close to someone else.
