Feng Shui might sometimes seem like a wildly confusing, esoteric way of life. But really, at its roots, it is about common sense and making your home comfortable. For example one of the most important things for your desk area is to clean out clutter. The more clean your desk area is, the more you can relax there, the more you are drawn to be there, and the more productive you are there. It's not mystic powers - it's about common sense.

What is your computer / desk area like?

When I worked in an office, I cleaned off my desk every night. Because I did it every night, it didn't take long. Also it was pleasant to start my day with a tidy work area.

I am now retired, but I have the same attitude about my kitchen. I may not do anything else before I go to bed, but I clean my kitchen. That is the first place I go in the morning and it is always pleasant to walk into a tidy kitchen.

At work my desk/computer is neat and organized. At home my desk/computer is the total opposite. I need to have somewhere to be unorganized. :-)

I would agree that it's nice to be messy somewhere, but I'm not sure I would choose my desk area! That's where you do bills and other important things smile What if your bed was messy instead? smile

I have been intersted in Feng shui through the years.
And have used in my apartment often. Somehow I got off
track ( sorry I don't like making excuses) I hadn't
realized that i was already doing some great solutions.
I had cleaned my stove (inside & out & back of) that's
money opportunities & the Refigerator <-moved it out/cleaned
And under the sink. I had my burner on my stove 'repaired'
that was non-functioning a few days ago (that helps us
to make money) and to paint the kitchen White. I have the
new paint & plan to paint kitchen. Wow I say I'm already
on my way I guess. So the clutter causes the obstruction
and confusion of course I get that(understanding) as I
read I'm chuckling because cooking meals at home increases
prosperity smile Well I think I've been on another planet?
Feng shui & the remedies start to work quickly and we
can see great results in weeks or sooner. There are SO
many Solutions & several options that serve. I think That
is why I like it. I love my home. And My intention is good.
I like the williness to take charge ( as they say) and to
change something I don't like 'about it' So here I go...

I have watched too many people spend too much time searching for something because nothing is put "away." It is so much easier and much more time effectient to put things where they belong.

Sometimes I get into to the dump it here and deal with it later, only to be sorry later.

The day it too short, in fact life is too short to spend half of it searching.

As far as the bed being messy, I love getting into a neat straighted bed, so I make my bed every day. (sometimes right before I get into it)

I also love a neat bed with nice clean sheets.

I twist and turn all night and braid up my covers, so my bed is unfortunately a huge tangle all the time. :-(

I love my bed and I use nice crisp flat fitted sheet. I wash
sheet often and never dry in dryer and usually the sheet drys
very fast. I like the clean smell & pillow cases with
creases. I have a fluffy comforter & damp dry it.
I've been told to rearrange BR funiture ( to keep from
getting stale) however I like things in a certain way.
we're to have smooth & coarse textures? I'm not normal
I guess and I do like textures? but I love lines & my
blinds are gray-blue color (lines & cloth) I have no
circles but I guess the lines in my furniture ( oak)
have lines & rounded shapes which is to promote
cooperation and improve communication with a partner smile
no broken objects in BR and we must watch where we
place our jewelry and also OUR OLD jewelery ( which is
all I have these days:) But I guess jewelry that reminds
one of a previous partner. m'm My jewelry box is Pretty OLD!
Thinking Now (I've had it through many life-times ha
We're not surpose to have a TV in BR either? I couldn't
be with out but I know alot of people like alot of
quiet & peace in the BR what ever "it's all good" I guess
as long as we're happy & thankful to rest smile

Oh good glad I'm still here. I wanted to add: I meant to SAY
we should clean out our jewelry box and remove any jewelry
that has associations with a past partner. anything that reminds
us of a past relationship could interere with our feelings
and receptivity to a new partner ect. Well I know I have
given away 'gifts' jewelry that someone gave me & I didn't
want the gift anymore ( or to think about THAT person)
I know a little RE: Gemstones and metals and I know they hold
on to the 'vibrations of people & energy who have handled them.
In my bedroom I do not like too much 'yin energy? maybe why
I like lines instead of curving angles & shapes. I like BR white
for protection & good for delicate health and I have blue
and is calming for restful sleep. keeping it darker at
night seems to help me sleep good too. I do get confused
because I don't want the Chi to get stuck either & I don't
want sluggishness or congestion. I always have to have
some lite fan blowing fresh air down my hallway & into my
BR. Seems I have STIRED up alot. I get started with THIS
Feng shui and I don't want to stop <teasing> I read where
we are NOT to have our computer in the bed room. And if
we do we are to cover it. Now I'm wondering if I should cover
my TV in BR? Well ideally my BR is not cluttered and is
a happy room at the same time linked to health and where I
rest. RE: my gem stones, I usually clean in salt water and
they hang around with me in different parts of my place.
I'm saying all of this because I like all of this Feng Shui
and I know the differnt area& in my apartment and what is
beneficial & impact & what works? but I seem to venture away
FROM? maybe I need to read & study ( start all over again)
After all it's common sense and why do I make it complicated?
too many practices maybe or levels? If it's so good why
do I end up like this & leave it? maybe the subconscious
or too many symbols & seems perplexing. (like a diet, I
do well & eat healthy and then I go for IceCream instead
of fruit) I'm wanting to start AGAIN, guess I'll start with
quick & easy benefits and I'm always burning incense& usually
all year, all day (in a can filled with rice) maybe I should
change that to wood or ceramic? of course candles but incense
(everyday)and I smudge but haven't in a while? maybe I should
start again? so why am I wanting all of this? I want to
unclutter, more energy and peace when I look around my place:)

I have definitely read many studies that say a bedroom should be for sleep and that's it - if you have your bedroom become a tv watching area then your mind associates the room with being awake and active, rather than being quiet and restful. So the studies say it's good to have a fun tv room where you watch tv and enjoy socializing with friends and such - but then a serene, quiet bedroom where the focus is on quiet, sleep, dark, rest.

It is amazing how your mind "responds" to a room when it's used to doing things there. So for example when you walk into a gym your mind automatically starts getting you ready to be active. When you walk into a spa, with its soothing colors and sounds, your mind automatically begins to relax. You want to use that to your advantage.
