I can't get my ex out of my mind

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Male
I'm currently in a relationship with a girl that I do love very much, and want to be with. But a couple weeks into the relationship thoughts of my ex that I was crazy/obsessed with for quite a few years all of a sudden started popping in my head, and now I can't get my ex out of my mind. I love my current girl, and feel really bad for thinking about my ex all the time. Am I cheating, and how can I stop?

RomanceClass.com Advice
I suppose technically you are cheating because you think of her so much. Usually what goes on in our minds does not count as cheating but you have a bad case of it.

Tell your g/f what's going on and I'll bet that will reduce the amount of time you spend thinking of your ex. Ask your g/f for her help in resolving this problem. This won't be easy to do, and may break up your relationship with your g/f but it's the best way to go.

BTW, if these thoughts have only been troubling for for a week or two my advice is to ignore them and hope they go away.

Good luck! George
