I've never ever been in a relationship before, let alone have a bf

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
Well, I have finally become much closer to a guy I like (rather shy and quiet), we've spent ages and ages together, he keeps coming over my house, we've gone on long walks -where he hasn't been shy and has several times rubbed my back or touched my arm, and I've finally asked him to go see a movie with me the other day. During the movie he like took my hand and he sort of concentrated on running his fingers thru mine, or just over my hand, more than the movie. We're both 16, almost 17, and I've never ever been in a relationship before, let alone have a bf. I'm not sure whether this affection is the real thing or not. At what point does a guy become your boyfriend? I mean, do we both have to consent to it, like bf & gf. Or is it only after the first kiss? Yeh the kiss, another point, I really do want to kiss him, I can feel this amazing intimacy between us when we're alone, but when in a group, it sort of disappears. I'm not sure what it all means. How do I approach the kiss? I mean, jst do it, or wait till we go somewhere like a romantic picnic or something..I'm sorry, I'm just a little confused at the moment.

RomanceClass.com Advice
Your relationship seems to be moving along naturally although a little slowly (because he is shy).

Affection is a sign of caring for another person. Your desire to kiss him is very normal thing and you should kiss him the next time you are alone. Don't just have one kiss but about 5-10 mins of them... or more.

The way your relationship has developed suggests that once you are kissing you are bf/gf.

Good luck! George
