he's my fourth or fifth cousin!

Well I really adore this guy and we have so much fun together!! He treats me great and i really feel like he's the one for me!! The only problem is that he's my fourth or fifth cousin! Is it wrong that we want to be together? And if we do end up getting married and having children could they possibly have birth defects? Please help me! Thank you!

There are states in the U.S. where 1st cousins are allowed to marry.
Fourth or fifth cousins is nothing to think about.
