i dont know why i get jealous

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Male
ok, ive been dating this girl for a year now. she is the sweetest person i know. she was made for me, but for some stupid reason i cant get jealous thoughts out of my head. if she even brings up another guy i get angry, but i hold it in. i recognize when it happens and i dont take it out on her, but it eats at my inside. i dont know why i get jealous. we started dating when she was 16, and ive known her all my life, all she had ever done was kiss a guy. i know she would never cheat on me or anything like that, but it doesnt stop the emotions that are always coming over me. now with me going to college i need a way to deal with her being without me and clear my mind of these thoughts whenever they pop into my head!

Jealousy is not unusual, but it is a real nasty habit until you conquer it.

Think of your brain as an anti-jealousy muscle that needs to be beefed up. Whenever a jealous thought arises, punch it out with your anti-jealousy muscle. Eventually that muscle will get so strong that the jealous thoughts will recognize they are defeated and give up. You will be the winner (in a lot of ways).

Hope some of this helps!
