Guy from five states away

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male
I have totally fallen for a girl but she keeps claiming she is in love with a guy 5 states away online that she has never actually met. No matter what I say or do, she is convinced that she is in Love, this guy lies to her and she has proven it multiple times. She has had her share of problems of online bf's.. i will not discuss them here as they are quite personal. He plans on dropping everything and moving here soon. And I really need some advice on what Im feeling (Jealosy? mabye) And some Advice to give to her so she will be a bit more rational before he comes and moves in with her... Im not trying to stop it.. I just don't want to shee her get hurt again.

RomanceClass.com Advice
You are probably feeling jealous since you care for her so much. You are also worrying about her well-being. The best you can do is to say things such as "I hope he turns out to be as nice in person as he is online." In other words be supportive but always with a word of caution. If you come right out and oppose it, she will shut you out and not listen.

I would advise her to first meet the guy before he moves to your state. She may get some important information in person that she can't get online. It is really foolhardy to do otherwise.

You are a kind friend to take an interest in her well-being this way.

Hope things turn out ok,
George
