Asking someone out is always a tough thing to do. It's opening yourself up and it's being vulnerable and it's hard to do that and maintain your cool.

But think of it this way... anyone who is asked out is very flattered by the attention, no matter what they may end up answering, they are still really pleased that someone thought that highly of them. So go ahead and take the plunge. There's no reason to be embarassed if he says no... he'll think you're cool for having the nerve to do it.

One sneaky way of doing it is to ask casually if he wants to do something with a group of you, that way it's more like, "come along, if you happen to be free" and not "you're the only one for me!!" And then you can work from there. It's a lot easier to go from a friend to a boy/girlfriend than it is from a distant crush to a date.

Good luck with it and let us know how it goes!
