The Symbol for Cancer

I wanted to know what the symbol for the sign cancer means. It looks like a 69 but of course I know it's not. Can you please tell me about it and what it represents?

Well, Cancer is the sign of the Crab. The symbol actually is more of a ying-yang shape, more of a backwards 9, backwards 6 with the backwards 9 on the bottom and the backwards 6 on the top. In any case, those are the crab's claws!
