Is He On the Rebound?

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Male
Hi! Please help me. This is kind of long. Ok, I'm 13 and I've been dating this boy for about a year. That was really great, but we broke up about a month ago. I was really depressed and even suicidal at times, but just recently, I believe I've gotten over him and I also believe I've found someone who I really like and could potentially have a very good and stable relationship. I really enjoy spending time with him and talking to him. He makes me laugh all the time and we've opened up to each other about secrets and stuff, so at least we've established good trust. Like I said, I really, really like him.

But I don't know if this is a rebound thing or what. Also his ex-girlfriend just broke up with him about 2 weeks ago.

Do you think it would be wise to ask him out so early right after his break up? And if one of us isn't quite ready, could you just give me some advice on how to ask him out later? I just don't know if he really likes me as more than a friend. Could you possibly tell me some clues or hints or anything that would kinda describe the actions he would do if he liked me? Please? Thank you for at least trying to answer this. It's been bugging me for about a week now.

RomanceClass.com Advice
Definitely if he only broke up 2 weeks ago, be very cautious about the rebound issue. It could taint what would otherwise be a perfect relationship. You never want a relationship to fail because someone says "This is just a rebound issue" when it could have been the perfect one for you both. So give it time. Just be friends, just talk and share. After another few weeks, if your friendship is still growing, you'll know that it was meant to be.
